We have a library in our area that is called “Anythink”. The signage in front of the buildings also encompasses a symbol that appears like the scribbling of a very young child. “Anythink…..with scribbling.” Now what in the world are they trying to indicate? I must admit, I don’t know what they are trying to identify, but personally, I see ‘scribbling…..and then the name: “Anythink”.’ And to me it says that there are no perameters….no absolutes…..anythin(g)k goes.
The world system, orchestrated by the Prince of Darkness, Satan, is the foundation behind the ideal that there are no absolutes…..no right, no wrong, no sin. And it will tolerate everything or anyone that will agree with their so called ideas of liberation. Heaven forbid if the church should arise and declare certain actions or activities as sin and rebellion.
Proverbs 14:12 says that there is a way that seems right unto a man, but its end is the way of death. Jesus, in His Sermon on the Mount declared that broad is the path that leads to destruction (ANYTHINK), and there be many who go in by it; but narrow (CONCISE or PRECISE) is the gate that leads to life and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13,14) I must say that with the politically correct thinking that is personified in the name of our local libraries….”Anythink”, people are being programmed into ignoring the specificity of God’s commands and His precise means by which one must enter heaven.
Yet even in the material world in which we live…..does the idea of “anythink” hold true? Try constructing a house or a building without laying the proper foundation that must support the weight of that building and see if it will stand. Or hire yourself a pilot……(airplane or boat pilot), without accurate and precise navigational skills, and see if they will get you to your desired destination.
“ANYTHINK”? Personally, “anythink” is as ridiculous as the mission statement of a local school district: “Moving In All Directions”. What? Does that indicate that they are declaring themselves to be “diverse”; unlike, distinct or different from any other? Or perhaps, it means they have no clear target or specific goal at which to aim. If that be the case, then they are about as reliable and safe as being near the blindfolded man or woman who is throwing the discus or a javelin. “Round and round they go…..and nobody knows where the implement that they are throwing will go.” I must say…..that is a scary scenario.
The preciseness of salvation that God has provided will never leave the Christian in a quandary as to their final destination. Jesus has opened wide the gate to heaven. But those who enter, must come in through the preciseness that He alone offers.
