“Judgment? Are you really trying to convince me that God is going to judge the earth? Oh, come on now. I believe in God and all, but I have been informed in my theological studies that there is a God, but He is not concerned about men or the affairs of governments, tribes and people. And by what standard do you think He will judge the earth, friend?”
This is relative standard thinking of many people today. They profess belief in God. They attend churches, perhaps fairly regularly. They have not read the inspired Word of God, the bible, nor perhaps have the slightest clue as to why it was written, and how it is to be applied to one’s life for godly living.
Like an intricate web that the spider weaves to trap its victims, the devil has interwoven an intricate pattern of channels in which mankind gets lost in a maze of mind boggling mistruths and misconceptions. His illusion is clearly known to those who know the promises and protection of the living God; but, those wandering about as fleeting mists, aimlessly and carelessly go their own way.
In the apostle Peter’s second letter, he carefully warns Christians to beware of false teachers who would deny the judgment and who would be out to steal the hope which the church is to possess. He told of scoffers who would tell people not to be concerned about the Lord’s return. Most who would imply such lies do so only to substantiate that there is no true righteous standard by which men must live. In so doing, they not only deny the living God, but also the infallibility of the bible which so distinctly identifies God’s love and concern for mankind’s eternal destiny.
Some may be so bold to imply, “I think God is on vacation. Therefore, party hearty for you can live however your selfish mind desires. There’s been nothing catastrophic in the past….and there definitely will be nothing to worry about in the future.”
The bible is very clear that there is a day of reckoning coming for all who have lived, are currently living, and will live in the future.
God is not on vacation. He will come and He will judge the earth and all who live ungodly.
