“And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!” 1 Corinthians 15:17
For a person to contemplate that Easter is about anything other than the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, invites eternal condemnation and damnation. “Ooh…eee Jim, those are some pretty strong words!”
Christians around the world have a living hope because of the living Savior. The bible is clear that if Christ be not raised from the dead…..all preaching and all faith is meaningless and empty.
From the beginning of the church and the first sermon preached in Jerusalem by Peter, the message of the resurrection rings out loud and clear. It was proclaimed to those dwelling in Jerusalem after Pentecost. The Jewish religious leaders unmistakably heard the message of Christ’s resurrection in their chambers through the vibrant, Spirit-led testimony given by Peter, of which we read in Acts 5.
If the message of Easter fails to acknowledge the fact that Jesus is alive, and that because He lives, all who will place their faith, their hope and trust in Him, will live forever as well, then that fallacious message is truly not the Gospel at all. Woe be to those who would so alter the authority and truth of God’s inerrant Word.
The Christian’s living hope is eternal life because of the confident optimism we have in God Almighty through His grace that He has lavished upon us as defined in Scripture and of which is secured for us through the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Song writer and Christian singing artist Don Francesco wrote in his beautiful hymn, “He’s Alive”, “He’s alive….He’s alive. He’s alive and I’m forgiven….heaven’s gates are open wide….He’s alive!”
Truly heaven’s gates have been opened wide through Jesus Christ to all who will come……on God’s terms……not their own.
Our Savior….He lives…..He is alive……for if He is not risen, then salvation is not available to any person and our faith is totally empty.
Oh church….believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Bible so clearly portrays Him……risen….exalted and all glorious.
