Christ gave to the church in Matthew 28, verses 16-20 the “Great Commission”. Can you quote it? Do you know what it says? Have you asked, “how am I to apply this commandment in my life as a believer? Isn’t it for others to be concerned about this; those who are called to be prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers or apostles?”
Still millions on planet earth have never heard or seen the true message of the Gospel which we have been commanded to share with them. Neighbors, co-workers, family members, and total strangers which we constantly encounter, may have never heard the most awesome and wonderful message that mankind could ever hear.
Creation declares the glory of the Lord (Psalm 19 and Romans 1). God has shown all mankind His “invisible attributes”….by way of “the things which have been made.” This revelation of itself invokes a responsibility within all humanity to seek the God who has created them and to learn of His ways.
The church must encourage and instruct in the daily arenas which they enter, because all of us have a responsibility to discover the revelation of God due to the internal instinct, as such, that all of mankind possess. When men do the opposite from that which they know is the right thing to do, their conscience loudly declares that they have blown it big time.
By suppressing the blaring truth that we are not righteous, in and of ourselves, we foolishly think that we need to be accountable to no one but ourselves.
Paul had written to the church in Rome, in that doctrinal treatise of truth called “the letter of Paul to the Romans”, that mankind is “without excuse”. Why? God has chosen to reveal Himself to them. The question is, “Will they choose to acknowledge Him and their need for His salvation?”
When the Lord judges the earth, there will be no question as to whether His judgments are altogether righteous and true, for what may be hard to be understood now to the willfully rebellious and disobedient, will be understood with all clarity on that day.
The fate of those who never hear……will be clearly shown.
Oh Father, give us ears to hear, minds to comprehend, hearts to receive, that our lives will be set ablaze with the fire of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior and coming King. Amen.
